Mt. Bachelor

Just 20 miles west of Bend, Oregon sits Mt. Bachelor, the largest ski area in the Cascades. Our stunning volcanic mountain (Now dormant.) features 360 degrees of skiing and riding terrain on nearly 3,700 acres of pristine Deschutes National Forest. Eleven lifts, seven of which are high-speed quads, whisk skiers and snowboarders up a total vertical drop of 3,365 feet. And with more than 350 inches of light, dry snow falling on Mt. Bachelor every year, the winter season typically lasts from Thanksgiving deep into May.

Amenities include five terrain parks, signature ski school services, rentals, demos, dining and events. Mt. Bachelor is home to the largest specialty retail shop in Oregon. And our 56-kilometer Nordic facility, located just adjacent to the downhill ski area, is groomed and track set for both skate and classic Nordic skiing. Other on-snow activities include dog sledding and lift-serviced snow tubing.

Mt. Bachelor’s close proximity to Bend and Sunriver makes lodging options, nightlife and other outdoor pursuits easily accessible. Have no fear if the weather is warm and dry downtown. Mt. Bachelor’s eastern Cascades locale often means when it’s sunny in Bend, it’s snowing on the mountain. Save money and the planet by riding the bio-diesel-fueled Mt. Bachelor Shuttle, offering transport between downtown Bend and the base area several times a day.
